🌏 Introducing Explore!

We realized that when new users enter the app, they often face an empty dashboard with no direction on how to get started or uncover insights. In addition, it's difficult to quickly demonstrate value on sales calls, an issue our partners at BGOV pointed out.

The "Explore Global Workspaces" feature aims to resolve this by displaying pre-created workspaces that showcase PeakMetrics' capabilities from the get-go.

Key Features:

  • Improved Onboarding: New users now see sample data and insights immediately, making it easier to understand how our platform can be useful to them.
  • Filters and Search: These work the same way as existing workspace filters, ensuring a familiar and intuitive experience.
  • Recommended Searches: Users receive guided search suggestions to help them find relevant information quickly.
  • Save Workspace: Users can create and save new workspaces with their applied filters, making it easy to revisit important setups.

Ops Instructions:

Displaying Global Workspaces can be controlled by connecting a user's group to a Workspace.

  1. Create the (global) workspace

    1. Create a workspace using the pmglobalworkspaces account
  2. Make entry in the global_workspace table

    1. create a new entry in the table

      1. title - The display title of the global workspace
      2. icon - choose from this list
      3. workspace_id - the id from the workspace created in step 1
  3. Make entry in the global_workspace_groups table

    1. team - the cognito group name
    2. global_workspace_id - the id from the entry created in step 2
